The ladies first started the season with a few new faces including Emer Lucey, the dark horse, who loves her dancing, Eimear Dolan who loves Richie Shaw, her daisy, and Jenny Kenefick, the singing lunatic, along with the younger crew of Grace O’ Flannagan, Nadia Douglas and Kate McKenna.
The season got off to a great start with a pre-season tournament in Cork and also the Budweiser tournament in Three Rock. The first game of the season marked Emer Lucey’s debut with a goal against Corinthians with the final score being 2-1 to Railway. The war of goal scoring then started in the next match leaving Jean and Cathy with two a piece after Clontarf.
The next part of the season seemed to take a bit of a roller coaster journey with a loss to Alex, followed by a big gap in matches in which much to a certain team members delight the team entertained themselves by playing the Railway U18 boys on Friday nights, and the Leinster under 16 boys, where we will just say it was a draw!!
