1st XI open season with win!
Men First XI
The first XI got off to a winning start to the new season with a 2-1 victory against YMCA in Claremont Road. It was just the start that was needed as we build upon the second half performance of last season, and look to get some early points on the board.

Season Review - First XI 2004-05
The mens first XI achieved their best finish for some years as a last day win against the league winners Pembroke saw Railway leap frog several sides to finish 5th in Division One.
With three games to go four sides were still not safe from the relegation play but a fine run from Railway with late season wins against Monkstown and Trinity eased Railway clear allowing a stress free last day of the season at Park Avenue.

With Karl Kinch at the helm in his second year in charge and with the benefit of playing at home on the new water based surface Railway performed well and given the tightly contested league were not a million miles away from squeezing into the Top 4.

Paul O'Brien was top scorer with a haul of 19 senior goals which put him among the top Leinster league goal scorers which is even more significant given he spent most of the season at right back.
Player of the year was Owen Butler who filled the centre mid slot for many games and the side benefited from his experience and skill in the middle of the park as he showed he is a key asset when fit and playing regularly.

Strong performances from Kenny Carroll and Karl Kinch also help elevate the side throughout the season which will hopefully provide a platform to build on for next year.

The team would also like to thank New Age Services and Jackie Phelan who subsidised their track suits and for his support during the year.
